The journey to Kariyad Top from Vagamon is an amazing experience. The scenes on the way provides a feast for the eyes. The tourist department has opened an off-road jeep safari to relish the beauty of the rain here. This safari will take you to the hill top where you can enjoy your evenings in the snow. There is another safari available which takes you down to the waterfalls. There are many waterfalls here where each family can spend their time in privacy. Kariyad is situated near Vagamon in Idukki district. A 4km drive through the Irattupeta from Vagamon will take you to this beautiful place. The best season to visit Kariyad Top is between June-February. Bus service is available from Thodupuzha and Kottayam. Those who are coming from Thiruvananthapuram can reach here via Kottayam-Irattupeta route and visitors from Kochi via Thodupuzha-Kanjar route.
