Kaatathippara is situated 20km away from Konni in Pathanamthitta district, on the Kalleli route. We can reach Kaatathippara via Achankovil too. Private vehicles can gain entry only after the routine checking at the Njavanal Check-post. This beautiful place lies in the Konni Reserve forest. Once you pass the check-post, you will reach the Kakkathodu bridge. Keep riding across the bridge and travel for another 8km to reach the Kaatathi bus stop. This is an inhabited area. Take a right turn and continue travelling through a steep road. The ride is going to be difficult since the road is in a very bad condition. His road ends at the Kaatathi Tribal forest protection committee office. The forest begins from here. Not many people visit here and so there is only a small pedestrian path. The visitors have to walk for about two and a half kilometres before they reach the foot of the hill, Kaatathippara. Climbing on top of this hill is dangerous since the rocks are slippery and there are loose rocks which may fall any moment. But once you reach the top, the scenic beauty of the place around is breath -taking with its lush greenery and intoxicating beauty of the forest
