Shepherds taking out their sheep for grazing in the pastures is a common sight in Himachal Pradesh. Sheep here are mainly used for their wool. At the foothills of Shimla, one can see tiny homes that resemble match box and many colourful buildings that are built on different heights of the mountains. The sight of these structures some of them with 5-6 storeys built on 1000 to 2000 feet high, marvels the visitors with their awesome style and beauty. The roads here are narrow and going uphill is an adventurous task. Innovation of these roads have begun in Shimla-Manali and Shimla-Chandigarh routes. The roads here are too narrow where only one vehicle can pass through at a time. The mountain roads have rocks and deep gorges. Landslides are common here. The road may be dangerous but the gorgeous landscape with the magnificent mountains with snow tops attracts tourists every day. We can still see the signs of havoc created by last year’s landslide throughout the journey
