Ayyappanovu is beautiful tourist destination in Avanadu Panchayat, Malappuram. This lovely bride of nature attracts the visitors with her surreal and disarming beauty. This amazing waterfall lies 4km away from Vettichira town in the Katilangady route. The waterfall here reminds one of the Athirapilly waterfalls with its huge rocks and the spectacular sight of water falling from heights. Though not a very popular tourist spot at present, it can do wonders to Malappuram tourism if the tourist department pay more attention for the development of this area. The astounding visuals of nature will keep us in awe. Ayyappanovu is a wonderful spot for a one day picnic. This place lies close to the historical monuments, the Azhvanchery Mana and the Melpathur Mandapam.
