A unique spot that defines silence in the most astounding way that’s Anapalam for you. A quiet place with nothing but the wild surreal and disarming beauty of tea woods and foggy atmosphere. Anapalam is not a polar place. Not many would have heard about this amazing spot since it is not a tourist spot. A place with very few inhabitants, one can reach Anapalam through Kuttikanam -Kumily road via Pambanar and Koduva. There is a jeep service from Pambanar to Anapalam. Most of the people here are estate workers. Wild blue flowers can be seen growing everywhere. Be careful while walking through the green paths to the estate. One can see rabbits and wild goats dashing through the woods like an arrow. There is a wooden bridge across a small stream which scares the daylight of you with its loose wooden planks. Walking through the woods with Eucalyptus trees makes one feel fresh with the smell of Eucalyptus in the air. There are more than one tea factories which seem to be in a state of dilapidation or partly working. The people are friendly and speak Malayalam with a Tamil slang. Visitors to Parunthumpara must find time to visit Anapalam which lies just 7-8 kilometers away.
