Manali is situated in the Kulu valley of Himachal Pradesh which lies at a height of 6020 feet above sea-level. Manali is a visitor’s paradise. Tourists throng to this area to enjoy the intoxicating beauty and participate in adventurous sports. The place has stunning mountain ranges and breath-taking scenes. It is one of the most prominent honeymoon destinations in India. Paragliding and river-rafting are the major attraction here.
River-rafting is the most adventurous water sports. To simplify water-rafting, it is just rowing and controlling a raft in the river. But it takes an adventurous turn when the river is ferocious and the weather is rough. River rafting is divided into many grades depending on the extremity. There are rafting available for beginners to professionals. This sport is adventurous as well as exciting. People who do not know swimming can also participate in river rafting if they follow the proper instructions carefully. The 14km long white water rafting from Jhiri to Pardhi is the best one. The stunning sight of devtharu trees and the huge water waves that scatter on the rocks in the Beas river makes the rafting even more spectacular.
Manali is situated in the northern region of Kulu valley. There are buses run by Himachal Pradesh Tourism Corporation which take passengers from Delhi to Manali. It takes around 15 km to reach Manali from Delhi.  Most of the buses have night service so that the travelers can reach Manali during day time. The best time to visit Manali is from the end of March to October. After October, it gets freezing cold. By December it starts snowing heavily and travelling becomes difficult.
White water rafting, paragliding, skiing, mountain trekking and hiking are the popular adventurous sports here. Many people visit Manali along with their family during summer season to enjoy their vacation. Accommodation facilities vary on how much you are able to spend.
Vasisht is a small village that lies 3km away from Manali on the hillside above River Beas. This place gives you a surreal and disarming view of the gorgeous Manali valley. Travelers visit her to bathe in hot springs and tour the temples. Accommodation is also cheaper compared to Manali.
Solang Valley is another beautiful place in Himachal Pradesh which has many famous temples and waterfalls. Solang is also famous for its winter sports. Parachuting, paragliding and 300 m sky-liftings are very popular here. This snow-covered region conducts winter skiing festival every year which attracts thousands of travelers.
Leh - Manali highway is opened to the travelers after every winter season. Thousands of bikers reach here to ride through this magnificent highway road. This path is opened in May and closed in September because due to heavy snowfall travelling is impossible after September.
There are two regions in Manali – The Manali town and the Old Manali. The Old Manali is the tourist centre. The Hidimba Temple festival is the most important religious festival here. This temple which was built in 1955, is one of the main attractions in Manali.
