A canyon is a long deep valley with steep cliff walls formed by running water for thousands of years. These rivers cut through the places they flow, wearing away the soil and rocks, resulting in gorgeous formations called canyons. Some of these rocks have minerals which make them weak and thus making it an easy job for the running water. There are many canyons in South-West America. Grand Canyon is the most famous one because of its size and beauty. This gorgeous canyon can be called the art work of River Colorado and is 277m long. Another important one is the Antelope canyon which is a slot canyon; meaning its narrow and deep. There is no river flowing through the Antelope Canyon. It is actually two canyons (upper and lower) separated by a few miles. This magnificent canyon lies in Arizona state. It is a part of Navajo Nation, the native American territory which consists of parts of Arizona and Utah states.
