The Kuraganchola viewpoint is one of the lesser known yet a spectacular viewpoint in Kerala. It is situated on the western side of the Cheriyam Hills. Those who are coming from the Manjeri - Perinthalmanna side, can reach here from Manjeri via Vellila UK padi and those who are from Perinthalmanna, via Verumpilavil.
There are two main viewpoints here. There are also some beautiful creeks, rivulets and small waterfalls here. Most of these rivulets flow across the roads in Kuranganchola. Since this is a relatively unknown spot, there are less wastes dumped here.
Those who are coming via Vellila, can spent some time at the ‘Attakula’, a creek dam formed by stopping the water flowing down the hill here. After enjoying a swim here, you can sit under the banyan tree on top of the ‘Otupara’ and enjoy the scenery around. This is another viewpoint before you reach Kuranganchola. On one side of this place, there is a church on top of the Panthellur Hills. Those who are adventurous can try climbing this hill too.
You can trek from Kuranganchola to reach ‘Kodikuth Kallu’. The climb is steep and difficult here. There is a police wireless station on top of Kuraganchola. Once you are on top of the hill, you can enjoy the sight of Urakam hills and Mini-Ooty hills lying far away. In the evening, the nature looks stunning from here especially the sunset. The dancing peacocks is a common sight here. One must take time to visit this amazing location with your family or friends to have an unforgettable experience.
