The History of Mysore Karnadaka state

Mysore is one of the most favourite tourist destinations of Malayalee. Whenever we think of an excursion or a family trip, Mysore definitely comes up as an option. This beautiful city has a similar weather to Kerala. This is just one of the many things that attracts tourists to Mysore. This city is also famous for its silk.
Mysore was the kingdom of Wodeyar dynasty for more than six centuries.  Mysore city was the capital of this kingdom which included not just Karnataka but also parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The Wodeyar kings played a great role in making Mysore a prominent princely state. Mysore though a part of democratic India, it still has a king who is the descendant of Wodeyar dynasty. When a new state was formed in the year 1956, it was called Mysore. It was only in 1972, that it came to be known as Karnataka
